Many of our NZDF personnel, Police, firemen/women and paramedics enter dangerous situations knowingly every day. When any of these people dies in the line of their work it is a tragedy. They generally do not get the official recognition of New Years Honours, MBEs or Knighthoods like other professions where people are just 'doing their job' (university professors, doctors, judges etc). They go largely unnoticed. Until one dies doing their job.
A timely moment to reflect on the lives of those who put their lives on the line daily for the rest of us.

Respect and all;will more lives turn this hell hole of lunacy and subversion into a democratic free speech nation? I doubt it, remember how the west was going to sort out Vietnam!

Afghanistan has seen numerous invaders and occupiers, none have stayed. Laying the foundations for an alternative is what I think the west is doing, whether that is the ideal outcome or not I have no idea.

I guess one could call it a workplace death.
And unfortunately, there are plenty of those in NZ every year.

A timely moment to reflect on the lives of those who put their lives on the line daily for the rest of us. I love that sentence Flyjoe. There has been a lot on the tv over the last couple of days here about what is going to happen when the hearses stop going through Wootton Basset when the flights move to Brize Norton. I think the people who turned up there and all along the route to Oxford were doing exactly what you said there...It sounds as if the people of Carterton have taken umbridge at the top brass trying to take them through the back roads from there and it may carry on from there. We'll see but I hope they do because it helps the families to feel that the rest of Britain cares. We also care about your ANZAC guys and gals too aswell as the other nations who are out there risking life and limb. Bless em all each and every one of them. They may just be doing their jobs but damn they do it well.... Dee
