Random, i might be related to Frank Denton. If you go back far enough i certainly am. Several of the Denton brothers came out to NZ, some as immigrants, a couple as seal hunters/whalers. Would be interested to see how distant a relation he is.
So do we know if the movie is still going ahead? I know there was some controversy last year with the name of the dog. But thats all ive heard.

I think this came from a website and I am guessing is most of the crew. Could that be Buck House ? The logo of the Australian War Memorial (AWM) on the right would be a clue... Looks like it could be Buck house to me, bit fancy for even the officers' mess. A troll through the AWM website should (re-)find the image caption and details. www.awm.gov.au/search/collections/?mode=advancedIn fact here y'go: cas.awm.gov.au/item/UK0212

Some good reading in those last two posts. Thanks for the links. I don't remember the exact courtyard area there but I did get a chance to spend a few hours strolling about that backyard in my No1 SD... more than a few years after that pic was taken though. Easy to see where the guys are standing. medias.photodeck.com/69ff8ca4-8544-11e0-b987-451691f50647/JH289_xlarge.jpg

@iannathan2: @raflincolnshire @stephenfry @bbcradiolincs @aviationlincs In more recent interviews I've done with Peter Jackson, he has suggested he still plans to make the movie. Whether this will be with the @stephenfry screenplay isn't settled. But the film could yet take off. @bbcradiolincs #RAFLincolnshire

We all need to start saving to buy 1/32 Lancs - perhaps that is the film funding plan.

apparently PJ owns Hood aerodrome!.... Yeah, right ... I must ask the REAL owners of Hood Aerodrome about that. They're the entity I pay local body rates to every year. Mind you, PJ is teaming up with SVAS and Masterton District Council in the classic aviation centre which is going to be built at Hood Aerodrome to house the SVAS amd TVAL collections as well as PJ's huge collection of WWI collectibles currently stored in warehouses at Trentham, although it will probably be a few years before it is open to the public. But PJ most definitely doesn't own Hood Aerodrome ... we ratepayers own it through the local council.

He's a busy chappie at the moment. They're also turning his novel "A Pair of Silver Wings" into a flick (it's in preproduction at the mo) and he's historical advisor on that too.
