The 1/32nd scale Mk IX from Tamiya (and their Mk VIII too) is certainly a perfect kit. It's amazing the accuracy and detail being achieved now and it makes me wonder why people put up with dreadful mishapen kits for so long. Tamiya has been leading the way in aircraft kits since the mid-1990's and others have followed along to keep up.

Now then Dave, The Hasegawa Hurricane appears to be no longer available. I can see no other explaination for it not appearing last year during the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain which most other kit manufacturers acknowledged with all sorts of gimmicks. All is not lost however as Italeri have recently issued a newly tooled Hurricane which looks very good and does not sell for the silly money Hasegawa examples currently do. Yes but Hasegawa is Japanese, and the majority of its market is domestic - they probably didn't see any money in a BoB re-release. Hasegawa are notorious though for withholding moulds for periods and then re-releasing them seemingly on a whim.

Tamiya has been leading the way in aircraft kits since the mid-1990's and others have followed along to keep up. Tamiya may be leading the way in a technical sense (them and Wingnut Wings anyway), but their subject range is still somewhat limited (aircraft are not their main thing), and at the prices they better be the best game in town As for putting up with misshapen models, Spitfires seem to have been notoriously difficult to capture accurately. Loving the good points and learning to live with/correcting the bad ones, or not building it at all are the only options (a bit like marriage!) with imperfect kits.

To add to this we are now able to offer very high quality paper models of every Tiger Moth (and Fox Moth) used by the RNZAF in 1/48 scale. Enquiries welcome.
