A new NZBCA newsletter is about to be published , if you would like a copy emailed directly please send your address to spirits@xtra.co.nz . The Ass facebook page is updated weekly.
Following a proposal from President Ron Mayhil DFC ( 75 sq) a referendum of veterans to change the constitution allowing non veterans to hold executive posts was held and passed As a result we have a new President , Vice President and a complete 10 person executive. The President is Bruce Hebbard of Wanaka whose father flew as a BA on 617 sq , and the Vice President is Michael Copsey of Ponsonby whose father was also a BA but on 218 sq.His son currently flies with 5 squadron.
Finally following the passing of our long serving Chaplain , Archdeacon Neville Selwood , Group Captain Anthony Hawes ( currently the NZDF Chaplain in Chief ) has accepted the post. An ideal man as he accompanied the veterans to London in 2012 and has officiated at a number of our services over the years.
The new executive has a number of projects to start and a few to finish , more news later.

Details of this years Memorial Service ( June 9 ) are being sent out for publication . This year following new Association policy all Air Force veterans will be invited and included in the service . The invitation is to all those who served in any Allied Air Force during WWII and since . With the closure of so many Command and squadron associations over the years it is hoped to provide a formal service for those now without a "home". The service will be held in the Hall of Memories at the Auckland War Memorial Museum at 1030 and will be open to the public. Contact me on spirits@xtra.co.nz for further details or check the NZBCA facebook page.

Hi, In reference to post 3/Mar/2017 at 1.50pm, I googled my Uncle, Rodney Williams, and NZ Bomber Command came up with a photo of his Lancaster and crew. I have my same photo in front of me, but the nose art is not clear, as in your photo. Left to right are, Bainbridge wireless operator, Brind engineer, Hadley bomb aimer, Rodney Williams (Uncle) Pilot, Brash navigator, Maggs Mid upper gunner, Morris rear gunner. I hope I got the names right, the writing on the back of the photo is indistinct. His son and daughter live in NZ and if you would like any more info on him I can easily find out.
Regards Rex Bolwell

Thanks Rex , we didnt have all of names . Also in the group of photos from Vivian Eyers were some excellent target shots taken from the Williams Lancaster. Vivian had come up to MOTAT to go through the one on display.
