Looks like you are on the same page as us Yes we are in the process of setting up a Paypal donation account, hopefully we should have this in place and the website up and going by the end of the month.
The Society is in the process of applying for Charitable Status with the NZ Charities Commission, unfortunately this process is taking somewhat longer than originally anticipated and it IS affecting many aspects, including the way we currently present our membership structure which is under review. We should hopefully be able to give everyone something definitive regarding membership over the next couple of months.
However in the meantime you are all still invited to join the existing supporters group the 'Friends of the Catalina', this is run by one of our stalwarts: Marlene Gray who is based on Waiheke Island. Annual subscription for the Friends is $45.00 and this entitles you to a couple of newsletters per year documenting developments with ZK-PBY and (when it is airworthy again), what it will be up to & where it has been.
Marlene can be reached by phoning 09-372 8906
or by Mail : P.O. Box 163, Oneroa
Please be aware that Marlene is one of our senior members and is not computer literate so unfortunately cannot be emailed. Marlene also runs the collectibles & Tee shirts, caps etc for the Catalina Society, so feel free to ask her about these too if you call her
We are hoping to get the aircraft flying again at some time in her 70th year, i.e. 2014. We will be keeping people posted on progress with a running blog style news page on the website. The timeline of course will be driven by finances, initial funds to start the work on the airframe have been provided by the original Catalina Group members digging deep, again additional financial donations by the public will be most appreciated
