While browsing trademe I came across a envelope postmarked "Emergency Army Airmail"
The text of the auction is as follows:
Was this actually 'airmail' as such and flown by an Army (or airforce) aircraft to Hamner springs ?
If so, what did it fly in ?

The text of the auction is as follows:
Emergency Army Airmail Cover 1973
Postmarked at Hanmer Springs on 19 Fe 73. 7pm.
Mail was flown between Culverden and Hanmer Springs while the old Waiau Ferry Bridge was being repaired.
This is the scarcer outward flight. Cover addressed to Sgt Farrow, RNZAF Base, Woodbourne, Blenheim.
The postmark is clearer than shown in the scan. Cover has light crease at bottom right and a few spots.
