Love it, why cant MOTAT do that. Mind you with the rig on wheels held back by a only a couple of back stacks it could turn into a very rapid go cart.

Holeeeeey! That's a serious piece of kit. Makes my wee Bristol Hercules look like a kitchen appliance. Hopefully she behaves herself on that running rig and/or nothing finds it's way into that big hungry fan.

I'm more concerned about the total lack of intake screens - even at idle an engine of that size could neatly injest anything in front of it. It wasnt long ago a Chinese baggage handler got sucked into a B737 CFM56 at idle - and that was a much smaller engine. I put a note on the video about it, but it appears they cant afford safety equipment. Not being from "the industry" they don't seem to appreciate the dangers. Great project, but they need to learn some of the basic precautions used by people who play with these engines every day.

I wouldn't want to be around if it ingested a bird such as a duck, goose or swan. However it would most definitely keep baz warm whilst he works away on his Auster in the cold of ChCh. the temperature was mild last night; it was -5 at midnight The noise might upset the neighbours somewhat though
