Omaka's Classic Fighters airshow puts on a pretty good night show and massive fireworks display too.

Wow,what a sight that would be! It would look cool if they had some Tracer rounds going off,not at the same time as the planes flying past of course ;D

Omaka's Classic Fighters airshow puts on a pretty good night show and massive fireworks display too. At Omaka for the last show, at night, and the access road was well lit..until the show ended, then the floodlights went out and it was a 'follow the crowd', trek back to the paddock being used as a carpark. The road was unsealed, but at some point became sealed, and there was a difference in the height, on which I tripped, went arse over tit, split my knee, dropped my camera, and was bodily lifted to my feet my fellow aviation enthusiasts. I was the only casualty treated by the Ambos all day! The moral of the story is, if you're going to a night show, take a torch!

If you want to know how well we are served by volunteer St John people, they dressed my bleeding leg, and advised the dressing should be changed the next day, but as we were heading for Omaka early I couldn't find a chemist shop open, so no replacement dressing! Then I spotted the very same Ambo's and asked them ever so nicely if they would like a bit more practice on the leg, and they of course obliged!
