So do TVAL have any of the above in their own collection, as Kermit Weeks now has poccession of examples of their Albatros and Snipe - how many of each did they build?

Just one Albatros left of those 3 types has been publicly acknowledged, I believe. Did anyone actually see the RAFM Snipe before it came out of the container in England?

There is also the static RE.8 in the AHC at Omaka. TVAL have stated on that they want a flying RE.8 so it's likely that another flier will be built eventually. ;D They have the plans, patterns and tools to build to build another Snipe so if a suitable engine is obtained then that is a definite possiblility too. ;D Likewise for the Albatros, although if they got hold of another Mercedes, I suspect they would probably put it in another type of aircraft that used them. ;D They seem to have a lot going at the moment and that's only the projects that are known about. Who knows what else they have on the go. So I wouldn't hold your breathe to see any of these in the very near future but they will probably happen, eventually.

Going to Duxford on Friday (hopefully via North Weald for The Norwegian Vampires and F16's) Looking forward to the Harry Tate and the Albatros on Saturday. Hoping for some better shots of the P47 as well, it was a bit distant at Legends in July. The good news is Summer has arrived in the UK....2 months too late!! (It's been the wettest in 100 years) It looks like Blue Skies from Horizon to Horizon.....

Of particular note is the last paragraph regarding a "second placement". That would be of a second UK intern to TVAL, as I read it. Regards,

That would be of a second UK intern to TVAL, as I read it. That's how I read it as well but TVAL prefer to do a lot of things by trading items/services rather than paying cash (they've stated this on their website). So the really interesting bit is there there some sort of trade for something they may want involved?......

I wouldn't read too much into the article, certainly (I've written for 'Culture24' when they were the '24 Hour Museum'!). I understand there have been trades for the aircraft we see here, and I'm sure there will be further good stuff from TVAL, and I hope the arrangement and relationship between TVAL and the RAFM has been seen as a success and something to be repeated - in that context another intern to NZ is a good indicator, as well. Just a few thoughts, Regards,
