In this episode I talk with Wing Commander Tom Horton DSO, DFC* pff, retired, who flew bombers in WWII from the Fairey Battle and Bristol Blenheim to the Douglas Boston and de Havilland Mosquito. Tom now lives in Virginia in the USA and is keenly following the progress of Mosquito KA114 as it will soon be heading to Virginia Beach, USA, where he hopes to visit it. www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/WONZ_Show.html#Ep26_Tom_Horton

Dave, what an excellent interview with Wing Commander Tom Horton and the fascinating story of his experiences while serving in the RAF. His mind was so sharp remembering such details right down to some of the kiwis he served with, the aircraft types he flew, squadrons etc. Has there been any thought given of writing a book detailing those experiences and more he related that covers flying such a variety of aircraft types in frontline service. It would certainly make for an excellent read so that history is not lost. We certainly wish him well and hope he fulfils his wish to be able to sit in the cockpit of Jerry Yagen's Mosquito when it arrives at his museum at Virginia Beach to relive some of his experiences flying the Mosquito in service.
