Is that assuming the US would fund a large bulk of the re enstated ACF as there is a 10 year cap on NZ defence expenditure ?. Basically it would require a new White paper to include a ACF in the joint ambhibious task force . Replacing and maintaining current capabilities Frigates , Orion's ,Hercs and Endevour let alone re introducing a former capability is a tight squeeze on the already limited budget. Theres no NZDF reference to a future ACF except for maybe museums .The only mention of ACF is on forums and from NZ first politicians such as this article. In the ideal NZDF the ACF would form welcome addition to the NZDFs combat teeth increasing options and flexibility.

I have a problem with an amphibious task force and no indigenous air cover. It doesn't seem right that we'll have such a task force and be bludging off allies for the air cover. Thats all.
