Hi there, I am a relative of Emma Florence Constance Ogilvie who was married to one of your pilots - David Malyon Allan. I believe Emma was known as Florence and she was my great grandmother's half sister. I am currently tracing any known relatives of this bloodline and would love to be put in touch with any remaining relatives. I know that the son David Malyon Allan was killed with his wife and daughter in the Mount Erebus plane disaster in 1979 and wonder if any relatives of the other son Peter Drummond Allan can be traced, presumably they are still living in New Zealand? I would be grateful for any information you can give me. Kind regards - a relative living in the UK. Attachments:

Welcome parivrajaka,
I talked with Peter Allan in February 2009 about his father, Dave Allan as part of my research. Sadly Peter has passed away only a few weeks after that in April 2009. His address when I spoke with him was 12 Sunburst Avenue, Snells Beach, Warkworth.
There are no listings now for the Allan family name at that address in the phone directory so I assume there is no widow, etc, there, but there is an L. Allan in the phone book in Warkworth at 55 Marsh Rd Wellsford 0977, phone number 09-423 8795. It might be worth contacting that person just in case they are related.
I would also recommend that you contact the Warkworth Returned and Services Club, as Peter was himself a returned serviceman, having served in the Navy in WWII. If he was a member of the local RSA, someone there may know of relatives or friend swho can help you.

Hi there I have just happened upon your post of 12 years ago. The Allan family live in the old family home at 108 Main RD Clive, NZ. You can find the phone number in white pages NZ. I was a teaching colleague of Malyon at the time of his death in the Erebus disaster and had a fond connection with him. On March 10 1979 he was at dinner with the doctor who was called away between the main course and desert to deliver my baby son! Malyon has great delight in telling me that a day or so after.
Malyon loved Kinloch, Lake Taupo, where I now live and where there is a memorial to him that I see often. He used to wait impatiently for the final school bell on a Friday before racing out to his ready packed car to drive to Kinloch for the weekend!
I hope you find this post, although I expect you will be well down the track in your search by now. Pat
