I'd date those as September 1955.
Love the AgTigers lined up outside.

Well I had intended to add more here but my Photobucket account is telling me I have no more space, despite the account also saying I have used just 36% of the free 2.4GB allowed. I have no idea what is going on.

I roughly counted over 90 cars in the carpark - oh and the motorbike... quite some staff on hand there - other places to work at I guess. Cool to see all the Fletchers waiting to be painted... and the old Dakota being moved around.

Lou Forhecz has sent the following info about previous photos I posted tonight: "The photographs of the new Fletchers and the flypast were taken on the 3rd of September 1955. This was a hand over day of 10 brand new Fletchers with the certificates of airworthiness being presented for each aircraft by MR G H Ross MP.
There was a flypast of the 10 aircraft, an aerial topdressing display, and then all the guests adjourned into the James Aviation hangar for afternoon tea and the chance to view the assembly organisation within the James hangar.
I have a photocopy of the souvenir programme for the day. Just thought this may be of interest, great thread that."

Certainly the underwing signwriting is clearly visible in those last few shots.

Interesting to see the construction of the hopper for AZL. Also there was use for the Thorneycroft loader other than loading the aircraft. I have a photo taken at Ardmore using the loader to lift the tail after having a flat tail wheel tyre.
