Grandfather (Robert Scott) Work with Ozzie james and for my great grandfarther Stanley Blackmore before ozzie bought the business and as a test pilot and top dresser. Need to find out but i know he still holds a time record between two NZ airforce bases with the mosquito. First Nz helicopter pilot too. Will try to scan photos next time Sorry for bad quality. sadly only pictures from phone and the room with photos on the wall had most of the lights bulbs gone. Had one of the tigermoth and bob with it at te papa too that he flew. was too blurry from my phone camera.

The Mosquito photo is one of Phil Makanna's, from memory his first use of digital photo manipulation as the shoot was actually done in the USA and he used some computer magic to transplant RS712 to UK skies.

Cronicash download Google Chrome if you do not have it and go to the top RH corner and download "Photobucket Imbedded Image Fix." You should then be able to see the images in Google Chrome.

Thank you for the photo bucket fix, easy and great that we can now view some old stuff! Perhaps you could post this as a stand alone thread so others can see this as well.

It has been posted in several stand alone threads, and I told people about the fix in the emails that go out to all forum members several times.

Hi Cronicash,
Thank you for post the historically significant images of James aviation. A wonderful record of a bye-gone agricultural aviation era.
Cheers, Madmax

Re: Photos of totalled loader truck under title 'Munted' and file name 'Buddy Hale': Leslie Hale AKA 'Buddy' (a second cousin) died in the crash aged approx 21 years. My understanding was the accident occured on the return journey. Recent info. recieved indicates that the accident may have happened at Parawera. Buddy's brother Colin Hale top dressed for James Aviation at the same time using a Tiger Moth (which he once crashed, but survived). Their sister Shirley Hale also worked in the office at James Aviation.

Sad to hear that the accident was fatal and that it was a family member winged1. I acknowledge that there has been further tragedy in the family and extend my thoughts Has there ever been a Roll of Honour for agricultural aviation personnel who lost their lives in non-flying accidents as there exists for those who met with flying accidents? I am aware of one other, a Fieldair (?) driver who lost his life when a loader left the road on the long-disused Makairo Track east of Woodville in about 1963

There is some really fascinating photos there, like the details of the C47 hopper installation, and early FU24 production So which FU24 milestone is this party for I wonder So does anyone know what all the tents in the Hiller photos were for
