The cleanliness and detail of the servicing is shown so well. Much appreciated. I am woefully lacking in Spitfire detailed knowledge. What are the yellow leading-edge features? Anti-icing? And the purpose of the orange clips, cleats or tape?

And the purpose of the orange clips, cleats or tape? The yellow leading edges were a feature introduced to day fighters around August 1941 as an aid identification from ahead. (Air Diagram 2001 - if I remember correctly). Roughly the same time as the camouflage was changed from dark earth to dark sea grey. The red (cloth) patches were to keep dust etc from the gun barrels.
