It will be an interesting weathering project with your airbrush Bruce, you can go even more wild than your Singapore.

Corsairs! ;D............................... Love the one of NZ5610 with the sheep underneath! Keep them coming, as although very sad to see, they are amazing photos.

Brilliant photos. I note someone mustn't have stirred the paint enough when remarking a few of the Corsairs as the Kiwi markings have totally washed off. I find it quite interesting that a lot of the faded roundels, especially on the Venturas, look (to me) similar to Brazilian WWII markings. From Roundels of the World ( cocardes.monde.online.fr/v2html/en/pays/bresil.html )

Stunning stuff, gentlemen. I'm utterly impressed. Great to see all the colour shots. They're gold for my modelling projects - 2 X P-40Ks, one in moderate weathering, t'other v-e-r-y weatherd.
What I would've given, had the chance, to save a few Corsairs. Can you imagine a flypast of four in formation? With four Hudsons in trail. Such a shame there wasn't a fourth option from the US. Like, 'take 'X' amount for private collectors'.
If only . . .
Oh, and one last. A Percival Proctor?? YGBSM! Beautiful sight.
Regards
Ross

Of course in those days Ross there was no such things as "private collectors". Even museums had no interest back in 1948.

The ex Indian Air Force B-24 at Cosford does apparently talk. When I was living in the UK at the beginning of the 90's there had been rumours of sounds coming from the aircraft. A university decided to conduct an experiment by recording these sounds at night. Afterwards it seems that they were played back to ex B-24 aircrew and asked them what they heard. The report was that the sounds were aircrew preparing for a raid. The aircraft did see active service with the RAF during WW2. I dunno!

Fantastic Marcus, thanks again! Almost like being there (even though I was once!). The aerial shots also remind me of the day, as a kid, we lined up with the crowds along the roadside outside the airport , to watch the Queen Mum drive past ... Cheers, Chris
