To round off the photos from my Tiger stash, here is the factory and the people responsible for a lot of the preceding Tigers...................... All captions are as written on the back of the photos. D.H Rongotai, Oct. 1944. Moa Point - "Props" D.H Rongotai, Oct. 1944. Prop. shop, Moa Point. D.H Factory, Wellington. Airscrews, Moa Point. Maori girls as fabric workers watched by Wayne Parrish, (American Aviation) & Nicolas "Nick" Higgs, General Manager, D.H. of N.Z. D.H. Rongotai, Oct. 1944. Dope shop, Centennial R.... (illegible)Division. D.H. Factory - dope shop. Rongotai, Oct. 1944 D.H. Rongotai Oct. 1944 D.H. R.&M. Centennial Blgs. Rongotai, Oct. 1944 L-R --, J.Dodds, --, --, Andy Sutton Dehavilland. D.H. Sept. 1944 Rongotai L to R W. Temple, J. Johnston, T. Sheehan. D.H. Canteen, Rongotai Oct. 1944 D.H. Canteen, Rongotai, Oct. 1944. And finally, what is quite possibly my favorite Tiger picture. I have only posted 1 or 2 pictures of each aircraft but I have more (up to 20) shots of most of the Tigers that I have posted, just let me know if you would like to see more of a particular Tiger. Right, that's it for me, what have you got?

I heard or read somewhere once that during the dizzy heights of the Topdressing Tiger era, "Temp" Martin had a team of Maori girls employed sewing wing "bags".
Apparently he liked to keep 3 or 4 sets of wings in stock.

Great effort there Marcus, Thanks. Any more there of ZK-APL (for obvious reasons) I heard or read somewhere once that during the dizzy heights of the Topdressing Tiger era, "Temp" Martin had a team of Maori girls employed sewing wing "bags". Correct. You could trade in your old wings (and cash) for new.

I have one other shot of ZK-APL, unfortunately at the moment Photobucket is down for maintenance. I'll post the picture when I can. I'm going to edit down the number of photos in the thread by removing the uninteresting ones so it doesn't seem as repetitive (boring?) which seems to have pushed commentators away. Any other ideas as to what I can do to make this thread interesting? Cheers

I have not been bored by this thread Marcus. I do get bored by the length of time they take to load on my slow dial up, but they have always been worth the wait. Thanks very much for sharing this amazing collection. It's remarkable to see how versatile and popular the Tiger Moth was back in the olden days. These days it is a rare treat to see one in most parts of the country whereas your photos reflect they used to be everywhere and often working in some form or another.
Which stash is next? A Kittyhawk Stash would be great eh.

To tell you the truth I have only found a small handful that I wasn't happy with and have now culled, so the thread is just as tedious as before. Peter, Photobucket is back so here is the other shot of ZK-APL taken at Paraparaumu in 1947.

Thanks for that Marcus. I always knew I was a rare bird. As you know, I'm too busy with Shorts and Daks to contribute much to this thread right now.

You never know what will interest some people . The father of a bloke I work with used to own ARZ , and thought they knew most of its history , ( RNZAF and topdressing ) but he never knew it had ever been fitted with a full canopy - untill I pointed him to the photo earlier in this thread . Its all good stuff ;D

Your's is half the speed of mine Shorty, it makes me appreciate your massive collection of photos in the stash thread even more. Thanks! You can get Broadband here but I'm too poor/Scottish to pay it when there's a cheaper option. Hoping one of the neighbours will get a wireless connection I can tap into. ;D

Interested to know when the photo of ZK-AQA "looking very smart in black and cream" was taken. The aircraft crashed at Ardmore on 27th Jan 1965 while operated by the Auckland Gliding Club and appeared to have been written off when I last saw it several days later.
