Some orange/white non-pointy things at Temora WDU'13. Great photos from everyone - good to see our visitors enjoying some different machines and aspects ( and regs ! ) OF

Some great photos on here, and it's nice to see some orange/white non-pointy things, especially the Winjeel! :-)

Great photos guys. I really enjoyed the airshow, the line up there was amazing. Took some air to ground photos from the Royal Australian Navy Historic Flight Huey so will post some of them soon so you can see how many aircraft were there. I have a fascination with formation flying and saw some of the best I have seen. The Trojan flight, Nanchang/Yak team/ Southern Knights etc were very good. A very nice pairs display was flown by the P-40F and a Mustang and hats off to those guys as well as to everyone who flew in the Heritage Formation at the end. In terms of the air to air we did the Temora guys were just fantastic. I was able to hand signal the pilots from the Caribou and really only had to push them away at times to get the whole aeroplane in the photos!!! They were all nice and close and the detail in the photos is good and some will appear in various magazines over the next few months. Great job to all involved, seeing the Connie was a real treat to and too many highlights to mention. The aircraft were a bit far away at times but that was only due to the crosswind blowing towards the crowd, it was enough to be a pain. All I know is I will be going back several times over the next few years, reasonably easy to get to, and beautiful aircraft flown so well are a good mix!!!

Brilliant photos.
That heritage flight is really neat. Such a mix of RAAF fighters. It cannot have been simple to do I'd bet. But it looks perfect. Almost as good as the formation with the Mossie, Corsair and all the Merlin and Allison fighters at Masterton.
When is the next one of these airshows?

Wow great shots, that Boomerang sure is tucked in tight under the Caribous rear end!
Now please understand this is far from criticism more just a question, I wonder why the Boomerang isn't included in a RAAF fighter heritage flight?

The Boomerang's wings look very boomerang shaped in that photo, don't they?

When is the next one of these airshows? AFAIK, it hasn't been officially announced. The last one was two years ago, expectation that *if* there's another, it will be two years hence. Watch this: www.aviationmuseum.com.au/ space. Was mixed up with a bunch of a other aviation photogs... And me! I was there for the banter. Now please understand this is far from criticism more just a question, I wonder why the Boomerang isn't included in a RAAF fighter heritage flight? I don't know, but a guess that the Boomerang isn't quite fast enough for the formation? Better informed comment welcome. Regards,

Glenn - fantastic 1/200th? shot of the Spitfire - so clear and sharp but still with prop blur. Wonderful closeups - thanks for sharing.

Now please understand this is far from criticism more just a question, I wonder why the Boomerang isn't included in a RAAF fighter heritage flight? I'd say it was more of a front line fighter formation, something the Boomer was not. Sent from my Nexus 7 using proboards

Outstanding pic's as always, outstanding! Sorry if this is a silly question, in the Hornet and Spitfire pic is the Hornet pulling up or flying high angle of attack to stay at the same speed as the Spit.

The Hornet flew in formation with the Spitfire. Could clearly hear the Hornet and was amazing to watch. However Paul Simmons did the best job of the day flying the Sabre in formation with the Caribou. The numbers suggested he might be able to do it but he found out when he got to us, he did a brilliant job. Last couple for now, and check out the latest Classic Wings magazine.
