Hi,
Loads of great photos. Thanks guys.
Myself and a couple of mates would be keen to head along to this airshow. How often is it and what price do gold pass tickets typically go for?
Cheers, Will

It has been biennial so far, so expect the next one to be 2015. Gold pass was AUD135 (for the one day that it runs) plus fees. These sold out very fast, within a couple of hours from memory. Prices are announced at least several weeks ahead of them going on sale (which was mid-July) There are also Silver and Bronze areas, Ryan and Tracy were in Bronze, and enjoyed having shade very much (there was enough of a breeze at the top of the GP stand that it wasn't too bad). If you don't want to wait that long, look at the Pt Cook event on 1-2 March 2014. No Gold Pass option, however. www.airforce.gov.au/Interact/Displays/Air-Shows/?RAAF-iBBIZGwstZ874cZM/cfL/Idc+u6Ro5VF

Check out the first couple of pages of this thread for discussion of aviation-related activities in Melbourne (and elsewhere).
Are you planning on coming to the Forum meet-up at Karapiro in January?

Yeap saw those thanks. Would definitely make a trip of it.
As for the forum meet, no I won't be making it. Our next aircraft related outing will be Classic Flyers in Tauranga. We'll be there both days. Just going for basic tickets.

Looks like Point Cook is a goer. Two of us will likely head over to check it out.
Can anyone recommend a good (but reasonably) priced place to stay? I've never been to Melbourne.

They did not look as fantastic as these photo's from the ground on the flying day Saturday. How ever as I drove into my car space over looking the runway the day before, after 2 days drive, the P40 put on what felt my own personal flying display. It was most definitely worth the trip from Queensland. Thanks for all the photo's every one.
