Last I know Phil Teague was still here in ChCh as a photographer. He & I joined RNZAF together and funnily enough RNZNVR as well so we did both our basic courses together.

Dave Sewell was running a fibreglass/ plastics business doing motorbike fairings and the likes. At least he was about 10 years ago and his shop was in Sonter or Michelle St's in the industrial complex at the northern end of Wigram.
I have memories of Lawson Sue at Wigram also. I was kayaking in the Lewis Pass area and being photographed doing my drowning impersonation.... Lawson ended up having to put the cameras down and wade in to help me get things back under control. I have yet to buy him a beer for that.

Bob Grange was living in Tokoroa for 20 years or so, not sure but I have seen him I think in the last couple of years. Will do a check next week. Am away for a weekend in Hastings, back on Sunday. Could check whitepages I guess. He was doing Forestry photography and aerial mapping for NZFP Kinleith. Ok, still showing him at Benalder Cres.

Norm Dix was in Christchurch some years back. I recall Tony Van der Water from Whenuapai. Will have a think about who else was at Whenuapai. I used to repair some of their cameras as well as the F24 and P3 units.

I used to repair some of their cameras as well as the F24 and P3 units. I went to school with Tony's brother Kevin. I think one of the family still lives in Gore and has jewellary shop there. maybe a forumite closer to Gore maybe able to check it out.

His website is here: www.mikeprovost.com/So, going by his website, it looks like he hasn't taken any aircraft photos since about 1998? Also, I have a feeling I may have got on the turps with Phil Teague (amongst a group of others) at Pomeroys in November 2011 - but because I meet so many 'famous' people, it's hard to remember for sure sometimes.

Never mind the 70's and 80's, tell us about the rocking 60's. At Ohakea we had Murray Greep, Miles Pointon, Pat Higgins and his young brother Danny Higgins. What happened to them? (I know Murray Greep did considerable Antarctic work)

I can go back further than that OJ, I have met one of the RNZAF's first ever members to do the official photographers' course, in 1940. Prior to that date they used civilian photographers to do their events and group shots, etc. He is Doug Vahry and I believe he still lives in Taupo, aged about 95 or so. Nice chap.
In my time at Wigram one of my mates was photographer Daniel "Jabba" Mattison, who went on to later join the NZ Police I believe. I can see two others from the section but can't recall their names, an LAC and a blonde Cpl.

Contacting the PIO at Linton will get you Paul Stein.
Last I heard Kevin Randles was teaching, presumably still living in Marton, I'm sure a phone call to CPE at Ohakea would help track him down.

Hi John. I worked as an RNZAF photographer from 1984 until 1993 at CPE Ohakea and CPU Philomel (with sojourns to 2TTS Wigram for photographic courses).
If it's of help I can email you a list of all the photographers I worked with or knew of over that time.
I have postal or email addresses for a few that I have kept in touch with and some others I can give you a city or town.
Cheers.
