It arrived in 2003, I helped Hallet pull part of it out of the container. If in doubt about anything, google it.

That Transland AG-2 has an interesting engine installation. It appears to have a P&W geared Wasp (R-1340), note the ribbed reduction gear case. However this type of engine is invariably fitted with a three bladed prop, as with Wirraway, Ceres, Otter, and the AT-6/Zero conversions. So why does this one have just a two blader? Was this "normal"? David D

Give him a couple of phone calls. One if your planning to go and a second the day before your visit.

The Ag-2 came without an engine. A nice chap donated a former Ceres engine which was installed and for a while it had a two blade propellor which was on loan.

Mit, regarding your comment about googling, sure there are some people who just like the sound of their own typing, but this place is specifically for discussing aviation topics with others, many of whom know the answers from first hand experience and could give a better answer than you'll ever find on Google.
David is one of the most emminent aviation researchers this country has ever had, telling him to use google rather than asking his peers here (who are the experts) is a bit off in my mind.
Keep asking the questions everyone, and keep sharing the knowledge. That is what this place is all about.

I Googled a few days ago the De Kellis-Olson Air Truck posted on the first page and came up with nothing, apart from this thread

To be fair, I couldn't find a lot on google till I hit images & then quite a bit more. Couldn't find a history of the company though or any production figures for this & before Mit shoots me down, I DID look. Anyone able to fill in the gaps in this part of my avaiation education? Steve.

Transland AG-2
Its an interesting one to Google theres practically nothing about it on the internet I can find, other than old press release type stories when it was first built. The design appears to have been taken over from Texas A&M by George Wing who owned Transland(of hopper box and Swarthmaster fame). No production lists anywhere I can see but they must have built a few as theres over half a dozen different N numbers in the photos of it on the net. I wonder if anyone in NZ looked at it at the time as it screams topdresser?.

There were three AG-2's built, between 1955 and 1959. Maybe next week, I post some details on the type. The reason CX-AYC-R is here as it was intended to be at the Aerial Ag Show at Pamerston North in 1956.

Looking at photos theres N933OH,N633OH,N83220H,N8231H and N833OH...unless of course the same plane had many identities.
Of the DeKellis-Olson Airtruck it doesnt seem theres anything else about it or its designer out there.

I've recently come into some details on the DeKellis-Olson Airtruck, (another posting soon). It wasn't an ag plane, the owner wanted to carry a jeep around in it.
