Spectacular accident Sunday afternoon on the airfield of Darois. An airplane collection, dating from World War II, crashed into the end of the runway after landing, according to our information, in circumstances still unknown. The accident has been fortunately no injuries.
The accident aircraft would be the Hawker Hurricane P3351 which has already had a checkered history before being repatriated to France in 2013 as evidenced by its story told on the airfield site.
Depends on the damage, if it's "just" a nose over might be a new prop, depending on availability however it might mean an engine change too so could leave her grounded for a while if the rebuild shops are busy. :-( Howver if they have a spare engine that might help. The Hurricanes use an earlier model Merlin from the more numerous MK IX Spits (for example) don't they?
The Auster should be recognised for what it is: a gentleman's aerial touring carriage and a nice aeroplane.
