The first night there at the hotel got on the turps with C4 and I know what it means but the Draken folks didn't until Grant let them in on it. Spent a lot of time talking to Patch Nelson at the party. I have a bunch of photos of the day and my trip to fantasy of flight the day before where I met Kermit Weeks Attachments:

Patch remembering days gone by. Had a good yarn at Omaka about things, he was pretty excited about the trip, understandably.

stukiwi, did any of you have a quiet word with kermit about returning his P-51 to it's original RNZAF paint scheme?? Would be nice for one of the 2 or 3 surviving Mustangs to be painted as it should!!

The red name tag with yellow lettering is/was the standard 75 Sqn colour scheme.

No I didn't have time to really chat to Kermit other than to tell him I was jealous of his collection although the commentator did say that the P51 was Ex RNZAF. He is a nice guy to talk to very approachable.

I see Draken are (static) displaying the ex-RNZAF jets at Oshkosh. I know Bruce and Slackie are going so we might see some photos soon. Draken at Oshkosh

No armament the US government is really twitchy about civilians having airplanes that can drop or shoot things.
