:-) I've added to the Forum Shirt thread rnzaf.proboards.com/post/191564/threadThanks Ryan My flight was great, it certainly felt like more than 10 minutes in the air, but even taxy-ing around was wonderful! Shared with another forumite, who's name I promptly forgot too! :-( A couple more photos from the flight, how good they look depends on your screen brightness. What a fantastic day out and thanks to the Warbirds folk and volunteers for some great entertainment. My first batch of pics are from early morning showing the layout and set up for the day. Nice to see the Skyhawk outside in the sun. Macchi looks great too. Set up for the children. When the adults get thirsty and hungry later. Visitors from Tauranga? Nice Chipmunk. Bit of cleaning to do? Great to see this one here again. Overview in the early morning sun. A few assorted British cars for the car enthusiasts. More to come soon. Colin

A few assorted British cars for the car enthusiasts. Nice to see a 1275GT in there (third from left). I wrote one of those off once upon a time, when I was young and stupid.

You must have been there fairly early Colin, that shot down the crowd line looks relatively sparse compared to when we were standing there taking photos of the Stearman. I'd estimate there was at least 5000 people there at the height of the day. And its a shame Peter didn't take a couple of test snaps of the aircraft who landed just prior to the Staggerwing taking off, because our 172 was the last one to land before the airspace closed . Long story short one of our passengers was a no show and we left 15 minutes later than intended after waiting for them to turn up (turns out later they never turned up after we left without them).

Yes I was there very early in fact I had breakfast at Ardmore Cafe when they opened! My first batch of pics are early bird shots and I have a fair number to go through for the rest of the day. I might also have some of the 172 you mention and will add them in as I go. Cheers, Colin PS reg of 172 are ZK-TAJ, ZK-JGP, and ZK-WAM. Was it one of those?

My second batch of pics starts with the first display bracket of aircraft at 10:30. Andrew in the Beech 17 Zlin T51 Beech 17 flying display. Every angle is a good angle for a photo? Birddog. Wait for display time. T51 airborne. Cheers, Colin

Colin, I was flying JGP and flyinkiwi was captain of WAM. We were booting it all the way from Hamilton and touched down 30 seconds before the airfield closed. Andrew in the Staggerwing and David in the Zlin were waiting at the hold as we crossed the threshold. If we had encountered any significant headwind we would have had to divert.

Thanks for all the shots of the Staggerwing, it's a real honour to be able to fly her. As for timings, just say you're from the Forum we will always wait! Or I will at least! Glad you made it in Cheers Andrew

Btw anyone with some shots of the belly, just want to see if the gear doors are closing properly, they were on the retract test but I see some funny things on Colin's belly shot but it might just be the light. It's all electric motors and chains springs and wires!

I will post the 172 after this batch. Thanks Ralph and good idea as I am posting all mine here as well as Facebook. :-) I have more shots of the belly Andrew. I will go through them and send any odd looking ones. To round up the first segment of display on Sunday. T51 display. L-39 and Strikemaster. Meeting in progress? Beaver away! Birddog airborne. The jets finish off this display. Cheers, Colin

Thanks for those photos of the Waikato Aero Club Cessna fleet, Colin. I imagine that it is quite a rare occasion that a top airshow lensman like yourself gives memory card space to the "Holden Kingswood" of the skies... Cheers
