I saw the Staggerwing in person recently and it is a stunning looking machine.
I appreciate there may be some sensistivities regarding the aircraft, but I am curious as to its future. Should its future be known in the public domain, then I hope someone can confirm its future involves remaining in NZ. Otherwise, disregard this post, I did not mean to offend and just wish to record my pleasure in seeing a quite remarkable and striking aircraft.

And its a shame Peter didn't take a couple of test snaps of the aircraft who landed just prior to the Staggerwing taking off, because our 172 was the last one to land before the airspace closed You are making assumptions there - Peter did. According to the time recorded in my camera - and the camera never lies, right? - you touched down at 10.27. The notamed closure was at 10.25, oh dear how sad never mind. I don't suppose anyonwe got a photo of us arriving prior to 10am in C152 ZK-BUD? A last minute change of aircraft as ZK-FLH was still under its 100hr on Sunday morning. Andrew, here is a shot of the Beech during one of it's display passes from a slightly different angle than Colin's shots. I have lightened it up a bit so the belly detail is more visible. Maybe that helps. As I am still churning through hundreds of photos from the South Island and Hamilton, I will leave coverage of this event to Colin (and others). However if there is one aircraft they have missed or wanted from a different angle then I may be able to dig it out. Over to you, guys.

These kids are having a (supervised) blast! There were several jeeps there, as well as military motorcycles. Well done to those willing to take a risk with their gear to get everyone involved. Ardmore13B_6222fl by errolgc, on Flickr

The inner 'ear' doors are most certainly open Andrew, PM on its way with some ideas.

That Staggerwing just screams 1930s playboy. So much style. And the colours on those T-51s are great. They really look the part.

Thanks everyone for the pictures.. We now know exactly what it is and can sort it easily. That's the thing with a new aircraft there are always little things that don't show up in the tests... being underneath I'd never of known.
Cheers
Andrew

It seems Ardmore Unicom had a soft spot for us and held the display for a couple of minutes. Perhaps they knew we were from the forum? By the way, thank you for posting the photo's Peter and Colin, they look fantastic. Could I get your permission to publish the WAC aircraft photos in our Club Newsletter?

Not many pics of the second display as most were back lit and a bit dark. Yes, sometimes I head over to the other side As I was staying for my flight, I put my short lens on and focused on re-enactors for the third display. Sent via Proboards Android App

Great shots as always Gavin! My last lot of pics taken from Airfield Road. Passenger flight before the last display. Private visitor and I haven't seen one of these for years. Warming up. Take off. Harvards are such beauties. T51 Brilliant! Ground action. P-40 is off for some action. Shot down? Not to be left out. Looked and sounded better in real life. Roll on the next Open Day! Well done to all those taking part! Cheers, Colin
