I found this on you tube today
21st. Jubilee Celebration in front of 125'000 Spectators. 30'000 cars converged on Ohakea, causing NZ.biggest traffic jam ever. Vickers Valiant was star of the show. USAF, RAAF. RAF and RNZAF were all present.
This is an old Documentary made by Members of the "Wellington Amateur Cine Club" in 1958! It was saved by me in time before it got lost for ever, after the Club, of which I was a member, seized to exist in the early 90ies. Other than adding Music and extra Titles, I have left the film in its original condition. It must have been an amazing Day, 30'000 cars converged at Ohakea and and created then NZ's first real traffic Jam.A Crowd of over 120'000 visited the "21. Anniversary Celebration of the NZ Airforce".
Posted on you tube by "Juerg Stucki".
I thought it would be of interest.
I hope I have not done the wrong thing by posting this here

As mentioned on this thread: Click HEREI am uploading my Super 8mm movies that got transfeered to DVD to YouTube and which I will post here. This is the first one from that thread as Dave has indicated the airshow thread would be more suitable for this one. Pretty sure the others are from this show plus one from Prince Charles and Lady Diana's visit to Wigram in 1983. It will take a while as it takes bloody ages to upload thse videos!

Cool to see that four-ship Strikemaster team. Keep the clips coming Baz, they're great.

Thanks Dave, not superb quality wise but at least you can make out what the aircraft are!. Just starting on the next one of the same show, this has some A4 action in the shape of a single A4K plus Iroqouis and some more of the Strikemasters.

Air Expo from Auckland New Zealand in 1992, Including some old ads too!!! Talk about a nostalgia kick! This is one of the shows mum recorded for Dad/me and I used to watch it - ads and all - almost every other month as a kid! It was a revelation to watch the official VHS with extra footage not seen here.

Another old Airshow footage is pried out out of the woodwork.
AIR PAGEANT AT MANGERE (1949). 15,000 people see the Royal New Zealand Aero Club pageant.

It was quite.a collection of types! Try getting that sort of significant variety in today's world at a colonial airport at the bottom of the world...

A really nice piece of film and an excellent effort with what appears to be a Super8 camera.

Apart from the commentator getting some of the US types wrong it was an interesting film. I kept on peering at the aircraft in the background trying to see serial numbers on some of the RNZAF types. Sad.
