The facebook page for the airshow says a Hercules will be there. I guess that depends on the Tongan relief efforts though if they finally get them into full swing.

Looks like there will be some good stuff there, I always enjoy the WWI displays as I don't normally get to see aircraft of that vintage fly. (being based at Ardmore does very slightly lessen the novelty of Spitfires, Mustangs and so forth!)

Weather and serviceability permitting, I'll have the Adventurer on static display with SAA.... Although I'm finding it tricky to get a Motel nearby that isnt charging a massive increase for the weekend and requiring a 3 night minimum stay...

Nice lookin' Fokker, the aeroplane in the background is pretty smart too.

Anyone interested in a post-show meet-up/put-faces-to-names? As we'll be getting on the Dak fairly sharpish, how about at the Fly DC3 Crew Tent (we need to check-in there at 3.45). It should be easy enough to spot during the day, I assume near the Gold Pass marquee.

I have only a General Gate Pass ticket but by then I'm sure the access is fairly open to all. I'll try to remember that, the DAK will be obvious in itself!! And so will the Warbirds Assn stand/tent - a member now.

The Fly DC3 tent will certainly be outside the Gold Pass area - there is a 'Aircraft Joyrides and ticketing' marked on the map, but I'm not 100% sure that is where I need to check in.

Hi folks,
Look out for Steve Geard making his debut in his Yak 55M. A regular at the National Aerobatic Championships in Waipukarau. It will be a pretty spectacular aerobatic display, a mix of advanced category competition style flying and some freestyle specialties of his. I won't be there sadly but I am sure the combination of a Vedeneyev Radial, smoke and an astonishing rate of climb, will make it well worth seeing.

Well you guys going have a great day (or two!). We loved going to these when I lived in Tga, and they just seemed to get better and better. I'm sure there will be a ton of great pics here...
Hopefully theres a decent airshow over here in W.A this year to make up for missing this one!

Yak-3 left Ardmore a few minutes ago. The Chippie that took off just before out appears to be doing circuits.

Think I saw the Yak 3 coming in earlier. Sounded like a P-40, but didn't look like one
