Great to see everyone's viewpoints! We went down on the DC-3 on Sunday, great service from the team as always. The roller-coaster ride through the Waihi Gap was a bonus! Didn't manage to catch up with anyone (besides waving at Suthg), and saw even less of the stalls etc than planned due to a late start from Ardmore (waiting for the 'Go' confirmation). Having lunch passed out to us was nice. I'm just converting from organising and editing using Photoshop Elements to Lightroom (and full Photoshop in due course), so my output will be even slower than normal. But I'll kick off with this shot from the pass that other have captured well. TaurangaCA140126_5140 by errolgc, on Flickr

You seemed very busy editing/deleting directly on the camera! The high contrast white clouds were not helpful for good photos, and then at other times it was very dull, limiting apertures and crispness. Nice shot btw! Keith Skilling knows how to place the plane for photographers (and our viewing pleasure) without breaking the flying rules around crowds.
The DC3 ride is one I need to plan for next time... $80 for a local flight, not bad!

A few from me What a contrast in weather between the two days, Saturday was too bright and contrasty and Sunday very gloomy, but you do the best you can Great to catch up with a few of the forum members and have a chat. Geez, Ralph. You know how to tease a poor gal dontcha Great to see you again. Here's a vid of the Corsair taking off and the Venom taxiing past. Took it with my iPhone so not professional quality.

I'm still holidaying in Tauranga, so no photos yet from me. Today, clear blue - not a cloud in the sky.
Interesting factoid - the place where we are staying is right on the site of the 1930s Tauranga airfield.

Great shots Colin. What were those paintball people and their doggy doing to that poor old man?

Great shots Colin. What were those paintball people and their doggy doing to that poor old man? He had just stolen that plane and they were catching him. :-) Cheers

The auto's were an awesome display. It was the best sales pitch I've ever seen for them! So much fun. I just got the 5D Mk3 camera and I was posted/lent a 300mm F2.8 & 1.4 Extender (shooting at 420mm) for the show It opened up the ability to get up close and personal... not just "shoot planes". A most satisfying day! Pete
