Weather's looking a bit dodgy, unfortunately. We should check the Facebook page?

Yeah, that may be a disappointment - may need to make a morning phone call... before driving two hours...

Really? It looks fine on Metvuw's forecast. Where did you get the dodgy weather forecast from? Sadly I am not going to make it this time.

Low wind, some rain in the forecast last night, current forecast on edge of forecast rainfall. Metservice (pessimistic as normal), has been saying 'periods of rain' for the last few days. So not guaranteed ok (might be low cloud even if it doesn't rain), worth checking for changes.

Agree Dave - 5-10kt easterly variable winds, probably a bit cloudy but basically fine - no rain perhaps!!

And MetService have recently updated for the weekend, looking ok (and I don't need to worry about an umbrella when I do some lamb on the barbie tongiht).

Metvuw is always he most accurate source for weather - and when I checked Metvuw yesterday morning it was showing clear skies and great weather, just like this morning. However even with the best forecast Ardmore is very unpredictable, being on a very thin slither of land between two great seas. I'm hoping it pisses down so I don't feel so bad about missing it. Nah, just kidding.

It might be more usually more accruate, but it isn't always (e.g. the last drag event at Ardmore). Where does metvuw show forecast cloud cover?

I was interpolating the 13:00 forecast using the red patch south to be possible drizzle in the Waikato, the winds being easterly will likely have some cloud associated coming off the waters.

Weather is looking great for tomorrow, if it's like today then you'll need a hat and sun screen, we will be setting up this afternoon, for the first time in a few years there will be 2 Strikemasters together on the flightline. 70 and 72. Only 70 will be flying but a great photo op non the less.
See you there, most of you know who I am so stop me for a chat or if you want to know where anything is.

Another great day out at Ardmore. It was fairly warm, but not as many in the crowd as I would have thought - I assume other events had an impact (e.g. Santa parade). Thanks to organisers, pilots, owners, participants and volunteers. Just a couple of the stars of the show, I'll get back to Cambridge photos for the rest of the week. All (well, nearly all) lined up. I guess there could have been 10 Harvards there, 15 the squadron hack was still back at Ohakea.
