Here's a poorly lit photo of DFT flying at Ardmore this afternoon. It does seem to be currently parked at Ardmore Flying School.

Fantastic shots Warwick. There is something about those Cessna 337s.

Graham Bethell owned KLB at some stage. Pacific Wings magazine did an article, July 2001 for those who still have hard copies.

I was told on the weekend that at one time a group of NZ based Rhodesians were considering purchasing a local Skymaster and repainting it as a RhAF Lynx and offering warbird flights. Given what they have been able to do with the static display Alouette in their Tauranga Rhodesian Museum that would have been something very unusual.

Looking back in time and in relation to the post re the Taupo Flying School operating ZK-DAQ since 26 July 1971, I found that Peter Matich started training me in DAQ on the 2nd of August 1971 at Napier where I was based as Taupo Flying School contracted staff to the Napier Aero Club at the time. It was fully Single Pilot IFR equipped but we operated it on VFR Charter. It was fitted with the Cessna Cargo pack but care was needed when stowing luggage to keep away from oil leaks from the front engine. My log book of that era shows destinations of Hastings, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Motueka, Auckland and Ardmore. Leopard Breweries used the acft from time to time. 150kts comes to mind as a planning TAS but it was an honest performer in all respects. The comments re gear retraction techniques are very relevant and leading with the rear engine on take-off, mandatory.

Where in Tauranga is their museum? Was at the airport, now in a very full industrial unit in Mt Maunganui. See thelionandtusk.org I was there on the weekend dropping of my scale model collection of RhAF aircraft and Rh Army vehicles (and a landing craft used on Lake Kariba). A total of 47 models naturally including a Lynx

By the look of the paint job she became SVY, ferried to NZ via Lord Howe Island, got feeling late 2019 early 2020?

I think you're right there, I remember it arriving at Ardmore with an Australian registration. It was very confusing when it became SVY as I was frequently flying SWY and the two callsigns sound very similar over the radio.

THL was red and white with thin black trim.
Interestingly VH-ROY was initially registered in NZ as ZK-HCC/3 between 16 and 29-09-1994. Somebody must have realised it was not a helicopter but a Cessna 'Squashmaster' and re-branded it as ZK-KLB
I recall one in PNG (VH registered) with a turbine up front and a loading door at the rear for poking in long loads
