My wife and I visited Napier for Art Deco from Scotland and thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend. Spent a couple of hours at "Flying down to Deco" on Saturday 22nd and I was well pleased with what I saw. A few gaps need filled in the logbook - the civil registration of Avenger marked NZ2518, and the blue/red YAK-52 that flew with ZK-ZAY/PTE/KGB/YNZ. Also a Convair landed about 1130 on the Saturday, just as we were heading back into Napier for our Charleston class! Any help would be appreciated on these. Fabulous photos on this entry, brought back great memories! Kind regards, Sandy Benzies, Edinburgh.

That was quick Andy, as I said I'm pretty sure the Convair is ZK-CIB. Note lack of windows. It's a combie aircraft. Sometimes it takes 14 passengers and sometimes 50 odd.
When I went to the Chats, there was a small group that i was in and three locals going home. What really amazed me was the big boxes of KFC, MacDonalds and Pizza Huts. The locals buy it in bulk and if they want a treat on a Sunday, they just go to the freezer, a few mins in the microwave and tea's ready.
