RAAF# on their FB page have just posted up a short article and a photo regarding the visit to Lord Howe Island by the C-27J Spartan. A nice "loadmaster's view out of the ramp" picture of part of Lord Howe. #Correction on the Defence Australia FB page using #AusAirForce as the tag.

Have been helping a chap out with a Flight Sim of the island, the grass would never look like it does and the locals have given me a hard time about this! Look/listen out for the cow mooing!

Wow! That is stunning! Has this 3D effect going. Is this scenery for the latest FS?

It's MSFS and the grass is default...at least it has grass unlike past Sims...and the grass is shorter than it use to be through updates

That scenery is excellent! One thing missing, I did not see you flying your model planes.

Hopefully they also fixed the default tree size in MSFS. I recall when I first tried it they were WAY too big..

About to get a flying visitor of a different type next couple of days, Tropical Cyclone "Seth" heading our way. Looks like lots of heavy rain and hopefully not too much wind, fingers crossed! Weather Situation Tropical Cyclone "Seth" lies over the Coral Sea and is forecast to move south today, and then move slowly west on Monday. This system is expected to bring wet and windy conditions, as well as large waves, for the coming days as the system lingers to the northwest and a ridge of high pressure persists across the southern Tasman Sea. There is an increased risk of localised coastal erosion for northeast exposed beaches as the large waves coincide with spring tides on Monday.
