What is on the hook in the first picture? In the second picture that is a push bike rack, they picked it up extended the winch then retracted it, don't know 100% but suspect they may have been checking the winch was working okay?

Anyone know of any French ships operating in the Tasman?

Hot off the press if that’s what we say these days, overnighting and on to Norfolk Island early tomorrow. Going on to Wanaka until January next year then back to Western Australia her home base. Helicopter month out here it seems.

Departed this morning for Norfolk Island, had a bit of a chat with the crew Craig Hallinan and Peter Spencer Bower, off to Wanaka for some training then back across the ditch in January.

Couple of mature twins spent the week on the island recently, the Cessna has had a history as a fire spotter hence the Bird Dog inscription. The retro schemed Aztec joined the recent new resident Aztec on the Island. Have heard a few whispers of a couple of unusual and rarer types may be heading our way in the near future, that’ll put the mocker on it for sure…… Be keen to hear af anyone can confirm or deny???

Nice scheme on this Aerostar. Also one of the three Dash 8-200s that service the route is grounded on the island with a prop issue.

Some old footage from my archives all radials by coincidence. Be interested to here if the Nanchang, piloted by Graeme Frew during this flight, is still in NZ. She may have been one of the first of this type, if not an early one to get to New Zealand? The Beaver went to Australia now on floats as VH-SWB. Most will know where the Avenger is these days.
