Planecrazy, I believe you are due for a couple of microlight visitors today/tomorrow. Three flew KeriKeri to Norfolk yesterday and scheduled for Norfolk to Lord Howe today. Would be keen to see if you can catch them. Cheers Thanks for the heads up fellas, will keep my ears and eyes up, blowing a gale though 25kts from the SW so strong head wind from Norfolk to Lord Howe and nasty cross wind landing as well!

David and his father Don Wilkinson both appear in Episode 88 of the WONZ Show, "Black Sands 2015". Great guys. David took me for an awesome ride in his RV8 too around Raglan, such a rocket ship!

BTW they aren't microlights... They are amateur-builts. The hop to Lord Howe will probably be Thursday.

Thanks Bob, don't think it will be today, currently 28 to 33kts from the SW at the northern end of the airstrip, this wind direction is around 90 degress off the runway. Tricky for a light aeroplane, if it stays there I don't even think the Qantas dash 8 will operate today, will be kite boarding though, yipee!

ZK-WLK just disturbed my morning cuppa, went over my house at about 700ft, heading east, not sure if she was landing or heading to Norfolk, haven't heard the others yet!
Had some wild weather over the weekend 50 knot gusts out of the NE, bit of damage, trees down and sea erosion.

I just got an email from David Wilkinson. He says:
"Can you put a post on the forum to say we are safe at Norfolk and planning to head to Kerikeri Friday as weather no good today.
Spent a fantastic day with Peter Phillips on Lord Howe... He knows everything about the aviation history on the island."

182 with a stinger in her tail. Don't know much about these jobs, is the lack of struts unusual? Bird and a plane, I’ve always thought those dangly 182 rears look strange when they retract.

Its a Cessna T210 (Retracts, no struts) rather than a 182RG. (although early 210s also has struts....)
