Injured paraglider stuck on remote alpine range4:06 PM Friday Nov 15, 2013 A Westpac rescue helicopter was unable to land near the injured man. A paraglider has been seriously injured in a remote Canterbury alpine range this afternoon. An alpine cliff rescue team is en route to help the man who is stuck on a mountainside near the Mt Cheeseman Ski Area. The alarm was raised around midday when the paraglider crashed. Members of the public went to his aid and have stayed with him, police say. A Westpac Rescue Helicopter was scrambled but wasn't able to land close enough to the injured man. They are now taking in a specialist alpine cliff rescue team, a spokesman said. - APNZ www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11157894
