The Sky paint underneath gives the Mosquito a whole different look from the usual grey undersides. D-Day stripes also add such a great dimension to the aircraft. And the red spinners are like cherries on top, just a stunningly good colour scheme.

I didn't know what to expect when I heard about the colour scheme, but this took my breath away. Grainy iPhone screencaps don't do it justice!

Has anybody got any info about the squadron markings this is in & what time these markings pertain to? The EDSG over Sky says Banff wing to me but the Invasion stripes predate Mosquitos in the Banff wing afaik? Who is this one going to? Thanks, Steve. 235 squadron (LA squadron codes) as part of Coastal Command operating from the south west of England involved in anti-shipping strikes over the Bay of Biscay. 235 squadron traded their Beaufighters for Mosquitoes in June 1944. 235 Became part of the Banff strike wing in September 1944. So..... feasible I guess? Joe

I'm trying to think if there are any other aircraft out there wearing Coastal Command colours? There's the Catalina flying in a white scheme but that's in US markings but it might have been at one time in RAF Coastal Command markings? Yes Errol I don't doubt AvSpecs did their research but there's always someone out there who thinks they know better! Looking forward to seeing the first airborne photos. Looks like the lads at JEM Aviation better get cracking and put Full Noise back together as I think Mr Conroy will need a camera ship shortly.

Baz, do you mean flying aircraft or any preserved aircraft? The Sunderland at Hendon in No. 201 Squadron RAF colours would be Coastal Command.
And Beaufighter TF.X RD253 at Hendon is in Coastal Command colours very similar to the Mossie.
Don't forget that Bill Reid's Anson is in No. 206 Squadron Coastal Command colours too.
If anyone is confused by Joe Smith's comment, he is not doubting the scheme. He is the Avspecs colour scheme man!

Baz, do you mean flying aircraft or any preserved aircraft? I was thinking preserved and flying. Yeah the Sunderland should have been an easy one! Just found this artwork by Keith Burns. No red spinners but hey rockets! Banff Mossie by Keith Burns by Barry Tod, on Flickr

Must have had a change of plan, no rockets fired? That's a great picture, by the looks of things did enough damage with the guns, saving the rockets for a more juicy target perhaps?! Just noticed the third Mosi is firing it's rockets!

Cracker shots Gavin, thanks so much for sharing! It's interesting to see PZ474 includes the same clockwork motor mechanism as the others Joe Smith: there have been a lot of very favourable comments on international warbird and modelling forums regarding the choice and execution of paint scheme. Bravo sir!

Must have had a change of plan, no rockets fired? Rockets have gone, those are the launch rails still under the wings. Steve.
