Hello, The Sport aircraft assn. is having a display of aircraft, both static and flying at this years show, as well as displays in hangar 8 which is the end one closest to the runway on the western side, next to the mustangs hangar. We have about 40 static craft of all shapes and sizes and 15 will do the mass flybuy with some doing a handling demo at 10.30 hrs each day. This is a significant push to get more public into sport aircraft flying incorporating 50 years of amateur construction in New Zealand. I will have my part built Jodel in the hangar. Call in and make yourself known.

Sounds all good - was planning of getting my Alpi 200 down there as well on display but looks like the weather and lack of finding experienced pilot to cruise down with me might put that idea to sleep this year.
Will stop past the display tho and see what's happening there.

Well things went off pretty good with thanks to Greg Doran for the use of his hangar for the display.Lots of foot traffic had us chatting to interested folk from all over the world, including a French couple who flew Jodels on skis landing 9000ft up mountains. 7 aircraft and a Gyro flew in the display on the 3 days, ranging from the Searey amphibian to the F1 rocket at 200 kts. Good to see the display stand material I sent down made it there - looks like it was set up as a really good display! I'm very pleased it got some decent traffic, as Tauranga was a complete waste of time. We were placed so far away from everyone there, it was a proper "stealth" display. I gave out one brochure all weekend, and I think that was someone who was lost! Good on everyone who helped at Wanaka, you've done well.

So what is the deal with that white aircraft with the rego RGO seen in the photo above in the three-ship with ZK-FIZ and ZK-RVU?

Confused more, the CAA site says ZK-RVD is an RV 7A owned by Peter Murray Whyte.
And if it is RVD, whu is it clearly marked as RGO which is not on the register. Is something illegal going on here?? Surely not.
