You may be interested to know A9-574 was The Tucker Box at 8 Squadron. A couple of photos in the AWM collection. Rgds Tim D Today, after years of not really knowing much about my grandad, except that he flew Beauforts for 8th Squadron and 100th, I came across a 1:32 conversion of Revell's beaufighter, into A9-574 'The Tucker Box' Beaufort. uncleles.net/tag/beaufort/ Given that my grandad's last name was Tucker, I thought it worth a bit of a google. Its my Grandad's plane!!! And now I discover parts of it may even still exist at Moorabbin Air Museum 1 hour's drive away!? What a day!

Hi RSG,
I'm the treasurer of the Australian Aircraft Restoration Group, who run the Moorabbin Air Museum. I'm really glad to see that you've found this thread and am fascinated to learn of your grandfather's history. We do indeed have at least one large section of A9-574, and given the family connection, I'd like to arrange a section of skin or such for you as a reminder of your grandfather. Please inbox me and we can discuss it further.
Cheers, Matt Austin
