Talking about Jack Asplin , when we talked to him in 1963 or so , he wanted 6000 pounds , that was when 1000 was a pretty good income , so maybe $750 k in todays money. Asplin was selling himself short: $750 000 wouldn't buy very much of a Corsair nowadays! It is bloody great to see you back here posting Craig, after more than four years!! We shall kill the fatted calf and feast, oh prodigal one.

Prior to WW11 my mum lived in the house that had the Corsair parked beside it, opposite the Cambridge water tower. I've calculated that this was about 1920-24 as the little family also lived at Leamington during this period. They had to move every time her mum, my grandmother, couldn't afford to pay the rent. She would always point out the house anytime we passed and we would always note the Corsair parked down the side of the house - RH side looking from the road. Memories!!

Sad to say some developer demolished the old historic Walsh house a few weeks back.

Yes. I was stunned when I saw just smashed wreckage left the other day while on the way to Mum's place. There's far too muc of this development happening here now. They're fast tracking our town to become a ruddy city.
