As always I've had to download and listen after the fact, but that means I have suitable listening material for the modeling bench over the weekend. I look forward to listening, Dave!

Very interesting interview with Graham Orphan Dave. I also like his take on ANZACs, basically brothers who squabble sometimes, give each other a hard time but mess with either of them and watch out cos the other one will back the other up!

That was fantastic! Great show Dave, I'm so glad Graham agreed to take part. An excellent update on the show.
When you asked about NH799 my heart stopped. But Graham's reply brought a massive smile to my face!

I am very pleased to announce that in the March 2015 Wings Over New Zealand LIVE Show on Warbird Radio I will be joined by a co-host - none other than my good mate Grant McHerron, of Melbourne.
Grant is already world famous for his co-hosting of the Plane Crazy Down Under Show podcast, and his Oz Desk spot in the Airplane Geeks podcast too. He has volunteered to join me in the live shows which I am thrilled about as it will lend another experienced and knowledgeable voice to the conversation, and as he's a New Zealander displaced in the West Island he has a big interest in our kiwi scene and he can also add a Trans-Tasman perspective to the show too.
We are lining up some pretty interesting guests for the March show too, so I am looking forward this one very much! Watch this space!

I am very much looking forward to welcoming onboard the live show's new co-host Grant McHerron . Our special focus for this episode is a very interesting interview that Grant and I did with Dee Bond, Peter Vause and Chris Snelson from the New Zealand Catalina Preservation Society about the restoration and operation of Catalina ZK-PBY. So be sure to tune in live,or if you are unable to, you can download the show afterwards as a podcast.

Don't forget to tune into Warbird Radio live today at www.warbirdradio.com at 1.00pm NZ Time (9.00pm Eastern USA time) to hear my interview with Tony Wytenburg of Classic Aero Machining Service who builds the all new 're-manufactured' Gnome Rotary engines, and Andrew Carter of Tavas who owns and flies the beautiful Fokker E.III Eindekker below, which is powered by one of the kiwi-built Gnomes. If you miss the live show you'll find it later on Warbird Radio as a podcast! We'll also have some Warbird news from around New Zealand and across the ditch in Australia, and hopefully speak with Nick McIndoe, the warbirds reporter from New Zealand Aviation News. Also feel free to call in during the second half after the NZ Warbird News for a chat, either by Skype to Warbird Radio, or to the studio line by telephone on 01 478 787 4768

That show went very well I thought, and the podcast should be available on the page soonish. As well as pre-recorded pieces from Tony, Andrew and Grant, we also got live calls from Warren Denholm of Avspecs talking about the mission to get the Mosquito KA114 to Oshkosh, and from Nick McIndoe talking about the Warbirds Open Day and the happenings at Pioneer Aero. Have a listen to the podcast when you can...

Coming up in just over an hour... This month's Wings Over New Zealand LIVE Show, in which Grant McHerron talks with his father Jim McHerron about his five years spent as aircrew on Short Sunderland MR.5 flying boats with the Royal New Zealand Air Force. In today's episode of the Wings Over New Zealand LIVE Show on Warbird Radio we will be marking the 70th Anniversary of VJ Day, the the end of the Pacific War and of course of World War Two. We will be featuring the story of the near disaster when No. 14 Squadron attempted its first long range ferry flight of its Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawks from New Zealand up to the Pacific war zone, as told by four men who were involved - Noel Hanna, Geoff Fisken, Joe McVicar and Owen Hicks. And for the second half of the show Grant McHerron and I will be discussing the Pacific War more widely with more RNZAF stories and likely some of the RAAF, Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm and US air forces too. Plus we'll have the usual round up of warbird news. Feel free to call in or Skype the show with your own Pacific stories. Phone in on (01) 478 787 4768 or skype in Warbird Radio Tune in live at www.warbirdradio.com at 1.00pm (NZ time) or if you miss the live broadcast go to the Warbird Radio site to download the show as a podcast.
