Which Servicing Units used these? Any idea? Were these used by the Armourers for the bomb trains? Or did they tow aeroplanes with them, or both?

See several in pictures on rnzaf.hobbyvista.com/venserv.htmlI believe they were primarily aircraft tugs as Ford bomb trucks always seem to be shown towing bomb trollies. I'm sure I have at least one picture with one sporting an 'MT' number in NZ

OK, I thought this might be the case. I know a chap who was ground crew with No. 11 SU on Venturas and he tells me they had a tracked vehicle similar to a Bren gun carrier for a tug in their unit. Do you know what type of vehicle this was by any chance?

Kit arrived today. Outstanding crisp detail although cutting out the steering wheel will be a challenge.

I finally got around to start on stash of 1/48th scale RNZAF pacific vehicles. Moline and Tamiya Jeep (part of WWII US Army Infantry at Rest) sitting on Eduard perforated steel plate display base. The Moline tractor is surprisingly bigger than Jeep. IMG_0454 by tankienz, on Flickr IMG_0455 by tankienz, on Flickr

That s a Celtrac MG1 or MG2 which was officially a High Speed 7 ton tractor. It was used by US and RAF as an aircraft tug. It appears the onboard compressor is being used.

So it is the same as the earlier photo. Does anyone make the Cletrac as a model?

So it is the same as the earlier photo. Does anyone make the Cletrac as a model? I'm only aware of a poor quality Monograme 1/48th kit that is sold with a few aircraft kits like Liberator and Catalina. The suspension is only one sided. See www.internetmodeler.com/scalemodels/flaviation/Monogram-1-48-B-24J.phpThere is also 1:600 the Shapeways version

Finally added another vehicle to my Pacific motor pool. 20180707_212526 by tankienz, on Flickr In the picture I'm using for the open top GMC cargo it actually appears to be US Navy/USMC International truck just used by RNZAF as aircrew bus due to the makings and lack of roundel on the bumper. Think I need to remove the upper sides of the cargo deck to make it more like the prototype. RoyPaton30SqnAircrew by tankienz, on Flickr I have another GMC to provide bits for a Ford GTB bomb truck and one on the way to convert to International tractor unit to tow fuel semitrailer.

With the addition of a few pieces of brass rod and plastic card the kit is finally taking shape. Steering wheel and towing hook pinched from Tamiya GMC truck kit.
