Going by the ads at the top and bottom of the WONZ ages it looks like she's the covergirl for the next issue of Classic Wings! I can't wait for that to land in my letterbox!

Sorry if this is a silly question, are the grey strips all over her how they where? Almost looks like doped fabric painted a different colour.

TV959 will be painted by the customer in its permanent (wait for it ) scheme in the USA. The current Silver finish on TV959 is the UV silver dope finish over the fabric. All the metal flight controls, panels and closing strips etc apart from the nose cone, engine cowls and nacelles are finished in a grey primer. The nose cone, engine cowls and nacelles are unpainted natural metal. Your grey strips are metal parts. Joe

They can't be Joe, we all know it's entirely made from wood. Airshow commentators always make a point of that.

And now for something completely different...... Dave, time for a third thread for the latest Moz? Gives me a feeling of satisfaction that two threads on individual Mossies could be running at the same time

Slackie, would you mind if I down load the above photo, and put it in the aviation section of the Model Engineer Web Site. isc Thanks for asking.... fill your boots! I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that anything we upload will get copied, downloaded, uploaded, modified, posted, etc... if there's something I want protected then I won't post it. Pretty sad state of affairs really!

Tis the way of things, Grasshopper. But this form of media is not unique in that; ever since the first printing press pumped out leaflets and the first photographs were developed in darkrooms, there's been some kind of plagiarism and fraudulent activity. Nowt's changed, just the way we present the information.
I asked one of the guys from the USA who was in the hangar (me and everyone else who went that day to look at the aircraft, I suspect) if he knew what colour scheme TV959 was likely to wear, but he said he didn't know.

Until it goes into the paint shop there's probably only one person who knows, and he ain't saying anything. isc

Has there been a 'franken-container' built to ship the wing, like was done for KA114? I know that one was stored behind the parts hangars at the Military Aviation Museum. Was it eventually shipped back to NZ for re-use, was a new one built, or is there some other shipping method being used?
