How anyone got out of that alive I shall never know.

I did see a report earlier that the injured were not on the aircraft, but that is very much unconfirmed. Probably a day or two before we know names. RIP

Well, considering the fact that an A320 prototype crashed at the Paris Airshow many moons ago, and the aeroplane has since gone on to become a best-seller, including virtually taking over domestic jet services in New Zealand, I'd hardly consider one crash to be an impediment to an aeroplane type being a success.

It's surely a big blow to the families of those who died, and the people who worked with and knew the victims!

www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11447512Spain withdraws flying permit for Airbus in production phase 9:10 PM Tuesday May 12, 2015 World MADRID (AP) " Spain's Defense Ministry says it has withdrawn flying permission for Airbus A400M planes in production phase until an investigation determines the cause of a crash last weekend near the southern city of Seville that killed two pilots and two flight test engineers. Minister Pedro Morenes told Spain's Onda Cero radio Tuesday that "it's not a good idea for those planes in production phase, and about to do tests, to fly without knowing what really happened with the (crashed) plane." He said all precautions must be taken. Morenes said he had no details on the investigation's progress. Four of the five countries that already have A400Ms " Britain, Germany, Malaysia and Turkey " have grounded the plane. France, which has six, says it will only use the aircraft in urgent operations.

Dave, that's exactly what I was thinking. What an awful title for such an awful thing.

A headline at the bottom of the article says that the software cut off the fuel supply.

Just renamed this thread as the word "supporters" found itself via auto correct into the title. Lesson in there somewhere? No disrespect to the victims was either intended or implied, I think I actually intended to us the word "software"
