Aircraft engineer friend of mine is looking after the aircraft side of a deceased estate. At the moment there is a Tiger Moth available and looks to available for under $70K. It is ZK-BRM (NZ1472). The engine is running well and has 238 hours to run. She will need a 100 hour inspection and a new ELT. I've asked him about the condition of the fabric which I will pass on once he replies but if you were serious about buying her I would get a pre-purchase report carried out so there are no "surprises" at the 100hour. Aircraft is in North Island. Serious enquirers to my PM please.

Did you get much of a response? Tiger values are a bit depressed at the mo, would hate to have to sell mine! There are a couple that have been on TM for a while, essentially complete rebuilds for $120k.

Heard of a quote yesterday to professionally refabric and repaint a Tiger. 100k
So 120k for a complete aircraft sounds like a bargain.

100K? That sounds overboard to me. Total materials cost for something like an Auster or Cub is in the region of 8-10K even adding another set of wings surely 80K can't be all labour. Mind you this is why rebuilders doing there own aircraft can save money by doing it themselves. Chap is looking at the Tiger Moth. There was an Auster as well but that has been snapped up already. Market for NZ Tiger's is flooded at the moment. There are two on Trademe and Denis Thompson has one listed on his website. As far as I know the last one to be sold was ZK-ANL about 18 months ago and before that the last one to change hands was back in 2007.
