Justpast Kawau Island. It's at 32.000 ft so probably no low flyby of Whenuapai coming up.

Missed Whenuapai, straight over Rangitoto, the CBD, and Mangere.

Don't quite understand why Whenuapai wasn't buzzed but more to the point it's a clear day in Akl & if I hadn't have been in pointless meetings it would've been unmissable right over the house...grrr! I see an AW109 (Mako 02) loitering around the runway at Ohakea... suspect we can look fwd to some RNZAF official aerial images of the arrival.

It was at 32,000 feet and travelling at more than 950 km/h when it was over Auckland, it might have been impossible to spot. It was hear, we have clear blue sky too and I was watching the FR24 and watching the sky, and it passed without even a glimpse of it in the atmosphere. I wish they'd turn the chemtrail smoke on at least.

My mate Mike and I were talking on the weekend about the unique plugged barrel roll that our Skyhawks used to perform at airshows, and it suddenly dawned mon me that the Poseidons are capable of air-to-air refuelling, so maybe we will see the plugged barrel roll come back as a thing at airshows?

Damn! Must’ve last checked in on this thread and FR24 just before she took off from Fiji! Ah well, sounds like Auckland missed out anyway. Awesome milestone though, look forward to more pictures and video.

There is a great video of the landing on the Ohakea Spotters Group on Facebook but you have to be a group member to see it.
