Well, I didn't actually see it happen, but I seem to recall it was at one of the airfields in Vietnam, or possibly at Butterworth; somewhere hot amyway,and by all accounts it worked! Just like starting a lawnmower!

They used to start Corsairs at Ardmore that way during the war when there was a shortage of starter cartridges.
