How do I find out more about the New Zealand Aviation Hall of Fame? I was curious as to whether there was such a thing as many countries have similar organisations, and I found an undated article stating that the Royal Aeronautical Society of New Zealand was starting the New Zealand Aviation Hall of Fame.
Has it been established yet? Is there a website? Who has been, or will be, inducted?
I can think of many people worthy of induction into a New Zealand Aviation Hall of Fame, including Ray Hanna, Trevor Bland, Sir George Bolt, Ossie James, Les Munro, Phil Lamason, Colin Gray, etc. Who would you nominate?

MoTAT had something similar many years ago. 'Famous New Zealand Aviators' or some such. I remember it well, as I had a big argument with them about the eligibilty of Rhodes-Moorhouse.

I think MOTAT made that into a book didn't they?

The undated an unattributed MOTAT 24-page booklet featured a rather long-winded title:
The Museum of Transport and Technology of New Zealand (Inc.) Presents ‘The Hall of Fame’ Honouring the Pioneers of New Zealand Aviation.
Those appearing therein are:
Jean Batten George Bolt Bill, Charles and John Brazier Keith Caldwell Euan Dickson Lawson Field Percy Fisher Gibby Gibson Doug Greig Joe Hammond Ted Harvie George Hood and John Moncrieff Len Isitt Ossie James Fred Ladd Bert Mercer Bert Ogilvie Keith Park Richard Pearse Bert Pither Alan Prichard Rhodes-Moorhouse [sic!] Geoffrey Roberts Arthur Schaef Will Scotland Piet van Asch Leo and Vivian Walsh Leo White Reginald White Rodolph Wigley Henry Wigley Henry Wigram
Needless to say (and perhaps mercifully given the number of errors) the amount text given over to each name is very limited. A product of its time, I guess.

I assume Gibby Gibson refers to S/Ldr Esmond Gibson?

So, I have never found out anything more about the apparent New Zealand Aviation Hall of Fame. I am guessing it may have come to nothing. But does anyone have anything more about it?
