Last week I was in Napier and had to make a pickup from the airport. I was more than a little surprised to see a whole flock of CT4-Es, back in their original ZK - PTx regos.
I see they're registered to a leasing company - what's their future?

I don't know but they have been down in Hawkes Bay since they left the RNZAF. I heard some were at Hastings airfield too.

So the plan is to put really high price on them. Let them sit unloved in the elements for years then sell them off cheap as a bulk lot to a scrap dealer.

My guess is that Aeromotive have sold them to another party who is now offering them for sale?

Unconfirmed story but I heard they were subtly not included in the sale of Aeromotive and when they were returned to Aeromotive at the end of their lease, the previous owner surprisingly turned up to claim his aircraft that he still owned much to Aeromotive's surprise. So over a period of a couple of days, he and a couple of mates ferried 13 CT4E's to Napier. I was told they were for sale as a group package, hopefully to someone like the Thai airforce or the Australian contractor for RAAF Screening and Basic flying training, but maybe considered for sale individually for circa. $350k.

Here is that word aircrafts again.
PNGDF signs deal for six new aircrafts
The PNGDF and Central Supply Tenders Board(CSTB) signed an agreement on Monday Feb 23 for the acquisition of a new aircraft that will be purchased and brought over from New Zealand .
In total there will be six aircrafts purchased under this contract arrangement over a duration of five years.
The agreement will also see training facilitated by Pacific Aerospace to also cover training of pilots and ground crew for the new acquired planes.
CEO of Pacific Aerospace Damian Camp says the training will take place in Hamilton, New Zealand and will cover basic flight and maintenance requirements of the two types of planes.
In total there will be four PAC 750 planes and two CT 4 military trainer planes bought over under the package.
The PNGDF Commander Gilbert Toropo, when signing the agreement said that those planes will be very useful for PNGDF to assist with defence call out requirements.
He says the PAC 750 would be exceptional to land on our rugged short landing strips around the country.
Toropo says that this agreement is a real boost to the capability needs of the air element in the PNGDF.
Meanwhile, the first three air element officers have already been screened and are set to go down to New Zealand to begin training.
While the initial PAC 750 plane is set to be in the country before the end of the year.

There is always the shy one - CT/4E Airtrainer ZK-PTD ex NZ1988 CT/4E Airtrainer ZK-PTE became NZ1989. When it re-entered civvie street the marks ZK-PTE had been re-issued to a Yak-52, so that airframe has become ZK-PTV. CT/4E Airtrainer ZK-PTF became NZ1990 which crashed in 2010 ZK-PTG ex NZ1991 ZK-PTH ex NZ1992

Thanks for the update Peter. I assume these are just taxy tests to remove the flat spots off the tyres. No harness or headsets visible.

There is an occaisional bit of engine running, they have to chase the moths out. You can see the restraining straps in the first photo of ZK-PTA.
This activity (and the storage) must be costing someone a fair bit of coin.

I went past there today but never spotted any yellow planes. This was not an easy-to-get compilation. Involves a lot of time, patience and digging around. They don't just pop up in front of you. It took more than a week to get these.
