For anyone keeping score at home: "Plonky" when she was sold by the AFC on her way to a new home in Oz. Ferried by Rex Dovey Kaitaia-Norfolk Island-Lord Howe Island-Brisbane QLD 05-06/05/1999, to Randal W McFarlane, Brisbane QLD 06/05/1999 Then again on her way home to NZ to become "Plonky" again. To Brendon E Deere/ITL Aviation Ltd, Feilding 01/2012, arrived Ohakea (Steve Death?) by air 24/02/2012

I think you will find it was Guy Stevenson that ferried the Avenger back to New Zealand, with Brendon onboard.

I was in the back of NZ2504 when we taxied Geoffrey Hubbard around the tarmac at Wigram. Kel Aldridge was the pilot. As we taxied around Geoff remarked that the intercom systems (the original TR1936 transceiver) was a better quality than the Airtrainer! As we taxied past the line up of Airtrainers outside 3 hangar, there was a gap between the aircraft and Kel folded the wings and we passed through the gap. Our esteemed base commander was duly impressed!!

I think you will find it was Guy Stevenson that ferried the Avenger back to New Zealand, with Brendon onboard. The pilot can be seen in this pic, don't know Guy personally would imagine Ando does. Don't have a pic with Brendon's head but can see the pilots talking with a local here.
