I noticed ZK-PBY flew overhead my workshop this afternoon, running just ahead of the rain front. certainly it looked and sounded lovely. I would guess it had come out of Hamilton (My workshop is under the approach / departure path) and it was heading east towards Cambridge. was it at Hamilton for Maintenance or just passing through on a cat Club outing? any of our Warbirds people know? (sorry, didnt get pics, I was too busy working on my plane - although at the speed it travels I would have had plenty of time!)

On Sunday the 'Cat' went south and ended up staying in Hamilton due to weather. The crew and pax were picked up by mini bus that evening. Maybe they tried to get out of Hamvegas and had to return?

I wondered about that, within a minute of the Cat flying over the heavens opened and visibility became very "non - VFR". I wouldnt have seen the cat come back (sounds like an old song...) as it would have approached from the south, away from where my workshop is, and i wouldnt have heard it over the rain on the tin roof!. Gotta love this spring weather - I'm waiting for the Daylight Im supposed to be saving.

Yeah it's a fantastic season so far! ;D Not bad today though, nice southerly and clear skies. I'm off flying...
